Bryce Canyon National Park

Day 1

We stayed at the Bryce Country Cabins in Tropic, Utah (nothing tropic about it).

Drive all the way to Rainbow Point – then see Sunrise and Sunset Point and see Thor’s hammer.

If you want to the easiest hike down into Bryce do Queens Garden, it’s the least steep trail descending into Bryce Amphitheater. 1.8 miles (2.9 km); 1-2 hours.

Navajo Loop – this is the iconic Bryce canyon hike. Lots of steep switchbacks. There are two sides: Wall Street (closed in winter) and Two Bridges. 1.3 miles (2.1 km); 1-2 hours. You can also see Thor’s Hammer.

Day 2

Hike Mossy Cave and see a waterfall and Mossy Cave, which is more of an alcove.

Willis Creek Narrows – 1 hr from Bryce (24 min detour)

Edge of Bryce Canyon (Cannonville) to edge of Escalante (Boulder) – 1hr 20 min

Bryce Canyon is pretty quick to see in my opinion, If you drive around the top and see the views, then hike down into it you can get a pretty good feel for it in just one full day.

Willis Creek Narrows: 4.8 miles These narrows meander for about 4.8 miles but the first 1.3 miles is the best. You can turn back whenever you want. From Cannonville, head south on Main Street for 2.9 miles (this road goes right past the Grand Staircase Escalante Visitor’s Center). Turn right on to Skutumpah Road, which is a dirt road. Continue 6.0 miles on this dirt road until you come to the Willis Creek trailhead sign shown at the top of this post. Parking is on the right and the trailhead is to the left.
